오히려 has the following two meanings:
1. [=반대로] on the contrary; instead

ㆍ 그녀는 가수라기보다는 오히려 여배우이다 : She is not so much as a singer as an actress. / She is more of an actress than a singer
ㆍ 그가 보수파라고? 아니, 오히려 실용주의자다 : A conservative? No, if anything, he's a pragmatist
