Let’s learn about "-인지/-ㄴ지" conjunction

1. 인지/-ㄴ지 means "I wonder (if, whether, how, what, when, who, where); whether, either ... or"; A connective or concluding descriptive suffix shows vague questions, attached to a verb ends a consonant. "이" is omitted and "-ㄴ지" have to be used after a verb ends a vowel


[Examples]


1) 무슨 뜻인지 모르겠다 : I don’t know what to mean


2) 이게 꿈인지 생신지 : I don't know if this is a dream or not


2. 인지 can mean the followings:


(1) 인지[人智] human knowledge [intelligence]

(2) 인지[印紙] a (paper) stamp

(3) 인지[認知] (legal) recognition; acknowledgment

(4) 인지 : [=둘째손가락•집게손가락]
