한국어 동사 4종류 : 4 types of verbs in Korean

1. 동사 종류(Types)

1) 동작 동사 : action verbs
2) 상태 동사 : stative verbs (상태: state)
3) 존재 동사 : existentail verbs
4) 연결 동사 : copulative verbs = linking verbs

2. 동사 설명(Explanations)

Different grammer rules apply to stative and action verbs, so remember them well!

1) 동작 동사 : Action verbs involves some kind of action / internal movement

ex) 
먹다 : to eat
자다 : to sleep

2) 상태 동사 : Stative verbs describe a state

ex) 
크다 : to be big
깊다 : to be deep

3) 존재 동사 : Existentail verbs refer to existence, presence or the lack of it

ex)
있다 : there is
없다 : there isn't

4) 연결 동사 : copulative verbs or linkng verbs make non-verbs to be able to use verb endings

ex) 
이다 : to be
아니다 : to be not

3. 상태 동사의 또 다른 이름(Other names of stative verbs)

1) Stative verbs are also referred to descriptive verbs(서술 동사) or adjectives(형용사) in Korean grammer

2) Foreigners find using the term "adjective(형용사) of Korean" confusing, they behave like verbs

* To be frankly, "adjective"(형용사) in Korean grammer is stative verb(상태동사) in the grammer of English and other european languages
