* 되다 has the main meanings as follows

1) [=다 이루어지다] be done; be completed; be finished; [=준비가 되다•준비되다] be ready

- 일이 다 되었다 : The work is finished

- 식사 준비가 다 되어 있다 : Dinner is ready

2)) [어떤 상태에 이르다] become; get; be; grow; form ; develop

- 어른이 되다 : grow up / become an adult[a man]

- 그런데 그 개는 어찌되었지요? : By the way, what's become of[happened to] the dog

3) [=…하게 되다] begin to ; come[get] to ; learn to ; set in; [=…으로 발전하다] develop into; grow into

- 감정적이 되다 : become emotional

- 극단적이 되다 : go to extremes

4) [=결과가 생기다] result[end] in; turn out; prove

- 치명상이 되다 : prove (to be) fatal

- 밥이 잘 안 되다 : The food does not turn out very well

- 꿈이 현실로 되었다 : The dream has come true

5) [=성취되다] succeed; be accomplished[attained]

- 일이 잘 되다 : be successful[successfully done] / go well / work[come off] well

- 잘 안 되다 : go badly[amiss / wrong] / be unsuccessful

- 생각대로 되다 : come off to one's expectation

- 모든 일이 잘되었다 : All went well with us

6) [=충분하다] be enough; be sufficient; [=만족하다(be satisfied)] will do; answer[serve] the purpose

- 이것이면 된다 : This will do. / This will serve[answer for] my purpose

- 백 원만 있으면 됩니다 : A hundred won will do[answer the purpose / be enough for the purpose]
