* 모시다 has the five meaning as follows
1) [=섬기다] attend[wait] (upon) ; be in attendance on ; minister to ; serve; take service under
- 부모를 모시다 : have one's parents with him / serve[support] one's parents / wait upon one's parents
- …을 모시고 : in attendance upon / accompanying
- 병든 아버지를 모시고 있다 : have one's sick father to attend to
- 그는 어머니를 극진히 모신다 : He shows great devotion to his mother. / He is faithful to his mother
2) [=신령으로 받들다(be held to a spirit)] deify; worship as a god; [사당 등(shrine etc)] enshrine
- 사당을 세워 모시다 : dedicate[consecrate] a shrine to
- 조상의 영혼을 모시다 : celebrate[hold] a (requiem) mass for the repose of the souls of one's forefathers / perform memorial rites in honor of one's ancestors
- 사후에 그는 신으로 모셔졌다 : After his death, he was deified[worship(p)ed] as a god
3) [=인도하다] show[usher / conduct] in[into]
- 선생님을 상좌에 모시다 : seat the teacher at the head / give the teacher the place[seat] of honor
- 역까지 제가 모시고 가겠습니다 : I will go to the station with you
- 당신을 모시러 사람이 왔습니다 : A man has come to fetch you
- 당신을 모시러 10시에 차를 보내겠습니다 : A car will be sent to pick you up at ten
4) [=초청하다] invite; ask
- 의사를 모시러 보내다 : send for a doctor
- 선생님을 모임에 모시다 : invite one's teacher to a meeting
- 사장을 모시고 : with one's president in attendance
5) [=추대하다] have over ; be presided by
- 모임은 K씨를 회장으로 모시고 있다 : The society is under the presidency of Mr. K.
