* 하나 has the following meanings
1) [숫자(numeric)]one; a unit
- 하나를 듣고 열을 알다 : be quick to understand / be quick on the uptake
- 하나만 알고 둘은 모르다 : judge everything by one thing he knows
- 골프에 관한 일이라면 그는 하나에서 열까지 알고 있다 : He knows everything about golf
- 그녀는 하나를 들으면 열을 안다 : Drop a hint, and she will understand everything
2) [=한 개] one; a piece
- 흔히 쓰이는 동사가 하나 빠져 버렸다 : One very common verb was left out
- 솔을 하나 샀다 : I bought a brush

- 이 페이지에는 오식이 하나도 없다 : There isn't a single misprint on this page
- 그것은 사장의 생각 하나로 결정된다 : It depends ultimately on the president's decision
- 이것 하나밖에 없다 This is the only one
4) [=동일] the same
- 하나의 : (one and) the same / identical
- 우리의 생각은 하나다 : Our ideas are the same
- 그들의 의견을 하나로 통일[조정]하는 것은 곤란하다 : It is hard to put their views together into one unified opinion[reconcile their views]
4) [=일체] one (body); one flesh
- 하나로 만들다 : make into one / unite (into one) / unify / merge
- 하나가 되다 : become[get into] one / unite into one / be unified / be merged / come together
- 세계는 하나다 : The world is one
- 바다와 하늘이 수평선에서 하나로 되어 있다 : The sea and the sky blend together at the horizon
- 전 국민이 하나가 되어 국난에 임했다 : The whole nation rose as one man in the national crisis
6) [=조차] not even; not so much as
- 그녀는 찌개 하나도 끓이지 못한다 : She cannot even make a pot stew
- 그녀는 싫은 얼굴 하나 하지 않고 부지런히 일했다 : She worked hard with no sign of reluctance
- 그 일에 대해서는 하나도 아는 것이 없습니다 : I know nothing about it
