[Remarks about "ㅂ 불규칙]
In Korean language, All verbs ending in "-ㅂ다" follow the rules below as "ㅂ 불규칙 동사(ㅂ irregular verb)"(“-ㅂ다”로 끝나는 모든 동사는 “ㅂ 불규칙 동사”로서 아래의 규칙을 따른다)
ex)
- 아름답다 : be beautiful --> 아름다운(beautiful), 아름다워(non-honourific descriptive verb)
- 귀엽다 : be pretty --> 귀여운(pretty), 귀여워(non-honourific descriptive verb)
- 놀랍다 : be wonderful --> 놀라운(wonderful), 놀라워(non-honourific descriptive verb)
- 덥다 : be hot in weather --> 더운(hot in weather), 더워(non-honourific descriptive verb)
- 춥다 : be cold in weather --> 추운(hot in weather), 추워(non-honourific descriptive verb)
- 아깝다 : be precious --> 아까운(precious), 아까워(non-honourific descriptive verb)
[ㅂ 불규칙 (V irregular rule)]
* ㅂ is originally from ㅸ (ㆁ after ㅂ a sign that tells you to weakly pronounce 'ㅂ' and stop right away. (See: https://namu.wiki/w/%ED%9B%88%EB%AF%BC%EC%A0%95%EC%9D%8C%EC%9D%98%20%EC%88%9C%EA%B2%BD%EC%9D%8C)
(1) the ㅂ of 아깝다 is not 'B' sound but 'V' sound and V consists of ㅂ + 옛이응 ‘ㆁ’. these days V sound changed into '우' for easy pronunciation

(2) 아까운: an adjective form of 아깝다; this is from 아까 + ㅂ(V sound consists of ㅂ + 옛이응 ‘ㆁ’; this changed into '우') + ㄴ(a suffix makes a verb into an adjective)
(3) 아까워 : 아깝(the stem of 아깝다; ㅂ(V sound) changed into 우) + -어(a non-honourific descriptive verb ending suffix)
* 아까운 : (1) [=소중한] precious; dear; valuable; worthy; ill-spared (2) [=아쉬운] wasteful; too good ; worthy of a better cause (3) [=유감스러운] regrettable; pitiful; disappointing
* 아깝다 has the following meanings
1) [=소중하다] be precious; be dear; be valuable; be worthy; be ill-spared
- 아까워하다 : value / set[put] much[a high] value on[upon] / make much of
- 나는 목숨이 아깝다 : Life is dear[precious] to me
- 정말 아까운 사내가 죽었다 : His death is a great loss (to us)
- 목숨이 아깝거든 꼼짝마라 : Do not, for your life, stir from the spot. / Stay where you are, if you want to stay alive
3) [=아쉽다] be wasteful; be too good ; be worthy of a better cause
- 아까운 듯이 : grudgingly / with an air of reluctance / reluctantly
- 그는 비서로 있기에는 아까운 사람이다 : It's a waste for him to remain a secretary
- 버리기에는 아직은 아깝다 : It is still too good to throw[be thrown] away
- 네게 주는 것은 아깝지 않다 : I don't begrudge giving it to you
- 이삼천 원 내는 것은 아깝지 않다 : I don't grudge[mind giving] a few thousand won
- 그는 그 돈 내기를 아까워했다 : He was unwilling to pay the money
- 그는 시시한 회의에 그렇게 많은 시간을 허비하기가 아까웠다 : He grudged having to spend so much time at pointless meetings
- 그렇게 마구 흐르게 하면 물이 아깝다 : How wasteful[What a waste] to let the water run like that
- 그는 그 경주에서 아깝게 졌다 : He lost the race by a narrow margin
3) [=유감이다] be regrettable; be pitiful; be disappointing
- 그가 이 경험에서 배운 바가 없었다니 참 아까운 일이다 : It is a pity that he should not have learned from this experience
- 아깝게도 그를 만나지 못했다 : I'm so sorry that I couldn't meet him. / Unfortunately I missed a chance to see him
- 참 아까운 승부였다 : It's a shame we lost when we were so close to victory
- 거 참 아깝다 : That's a pity! / That's too bad. / It is a matter for regret. / It is a thing (much) to be regretted
